Cast porcelain blocks are constructed into a makeshift bunker.
Rather than repressing porcelain’s potential to crack and distort during firing, this is exploited
to full effect to create the bulging, misshapen final object.
Materials: porcelain
Dimensions: 80cm x 65cm x 60cm
Created at ekwc (European Keramics Work Centre)

Shown as part of The Eagle Document curated by Monika Oechsler at the Stephen Lawrence Gallery (slg) in 2009.

The clay is fired at a low temperature so that it remains porous. When it is filled with liquid, the liquid seeps out of the sides and leaves stains on the surface of the object.

Materials: stoneware, laminate flooring.
Dimensions: variable
Made at the European Ceramics Work Centre (ekwc) in 2009
